Description:
Fritz Aquatics Mardel Maracyn fights Popeye, gill disease, and body fungus. Maracyn powder has been shown to be effective against a number of pathogenic bacteria associated with ornamental fish disease. Due to its unique design, Maracyn is absorbed by fish through the skin. During the prescribed treatment, the concentration of minocycline in the fish fluids rises to a therapeutic level and begins fighting systemic infections susceptible to this action. Maracyn is primarily effective against gram-positive pathogenic organisms. With internal diseases being more difficult than external ones, early detection is nearly impossible. Symptoms of internal infections can include clamped fins, swollen eyes, heavy or rapid breathing, patchy coloration, change in swimming behavior, or corner hiding. If internal infections are suspected, it is recommended to begin treatment immediately.
Dosage:
Can be used in freshwater or marine aquariums
Add the contents of 1 (one) package per 10 (ten) gallons of water and repeat every 24 (twenty four) hours for 5 (five) days. Repeat this 5 (five) day treatment once, if necessary.
*Cloudiness may occur while using Maracyn
**Maracyn may cause excessive foam production in protein skimmers. Stop use of protein skimmer during treatment if excessive foaming is a concern
***Treat for 5 (five) days, even if visible signs of infection disappear. May be used concurrently with Coppersafe, MaracynTwo or Maracyn Oxy. Maracyn will not harm invertebrates.
Active ingredient: Each packet contains 200mg erythromycin activity.
